SaaS New Entrant Radar: 12th October 2026
Geography: global.
Dates: 5–11 October 2026.
Confirmed entrants
| Entrant (+HQ) | Category | Stage & Funding | What they do | Who they threaten | Threat | One-line reason |
| Hone — San Francisco, US | Other (horizontal AI agents); AI Infrastructure & Orchestration | $60m seed at $285m valuation; Benchmark/Index; announced 8 Oct | Agents (“Engines”) that work to goals, not single tasks | Workflow-automation tools and ops headcount | Med | Very large seed round, but the buyer is vague and the product is early. It also meets Google’s agent in the same week |
| Gallatin AI — El Segundo, US | Industrial/Supply Chain SaaS; Vertical AI Agents | $50m Series A ($70m total); 8VC, Silent Ventures; 8 Oct | Navigator: one view of readiness, supply chain and mission support | Old defence logistics IT and manual planning | Med | The buyer is clear and the money is big, but defence buying is slow |
| Melius — New York, US | Martech; Vertical AI Agents | $25m total, including a $5m seed; General Catalyst/CRV; 6 Oct | Teams of agents produce images, video and audio without hand-written prompts | Creative-ops tools and production agencies | Med | Top-tier backers. Creative budgets are spread thin and many rivals compete for them |
| Ampersand — San Francisco, US | AI Infrastructure & Orchestration; DevOps & Developer Tools | $15m Series A; Bessemer-led; 6 Oct | Lets agents read and write inside customers’ CRM and ERP systems | Embedded-integration and unified-API vendors | Med | Live customers and a clear job: plumbing for AI-native vendors |
| Rein Security — Tel Aviv, Israel | Security & GRC | $25m Series A ($35m total); Glilot/Sienna; 8 Oct | Runtime security for AI agents a company deploys | Application-security and runtime-protection tools | High | Threat crosses borders: revenue is up eightfold since the January launch, with Lemonade and Dun & Bradstreet as named users |
| Klarent — Zurich, Switzerland | DevOps & Developer Tools | €7.13m (≈$8.3m) seed; Mosaic-led; 9 Oct | AI writes test code; the tests themselves run the same way every time | Test-automation and QA vendors | Med | Already used in production at European enterprises; now moving into the US |
| Verso — France (city not disclosed) | Martech | $6m seed; Angular-led; 8 Oct | Runs consumer research end to end, including AI-moderated video interviews | Research agencies and survey platforms | Med | Brand-name customers. It is a home-market player for now, with a US push planned |
| Nettle — London, UK | Other (Insurtech); Vertical AI Agents | $4.8m seed; MTech-led; reported 6 Oct | Automates commercial-property risk inspections and reports | Manual risk-engineering work and inspection vendors | Low | One insurer customer is named. Carriers buy slowly |
| Desible.ai — Bengaluru, India | Vertical AI Agents; Fintech Infrastructure | ₹32 crore (≈$3.7m) seed-plus; Prime-led; 7 Oct | Automates customer service, operations and compliance work for financial firms, starting with voice | Contact-centre and banking/insurance workflow tools | Low | Home-market player in a regulated sector |
| TODAY — Copenhagen, Denmark | CRM & Sales; Vertical AI Agents | €2.8m (≈$3.3m) seed; HTGF/InsurTech Gateway; 8 Oct | Transcribes meetings, does back-office work and coaches advisers | Adviser CRM add-ons and back-office staff | Low | Clear user, but a small round in a regulated, DACH-first market |
| Ocean — Tokyo, Japan | Fintech Infrastructure | ¥500m (≈$3.3m) Series A, second close; Yamato CVC | Duty-free tax-refund platform for retailers | Older tax-free processing services | Low | Home-market player tied to a Japanese rule change. Dates differ: first tranche in September |
| Project Suppliers — Saudi Arabia (city not disclosed) | Industrial/Supply Chain SaaS; Fintech Infrastructure | $1m (SAR3.75m) pre-seed; angels; 5 Oct | Construction sourcing, quotes and tracking; cash-flow tools in development | Spreadsheet procurement and supplier finance | Low | Home market in Saudi Arabia, then the GCC; small round |
Incumbent-launched new SaaS line
| Entrant (+HQ) | Category | Stage & Funding | What they do | Who’s threatened | Threat | One-line reason |
| Google Cloud — Gemini agent | AI Infrastructure & Orchestration; Other (workplace agents) | Incumbent launch, 8 Oct | One agent for knowledge work and code, with finance and legal specialisations | Horizontal agent start-ups and finance/legal point tools | High | Already sold to most large companies. It plugs into existing systems on day one |
Early signals
All these actions indicate only an intention; they do not serve to confirm actual entry into commercial operation.
| Entrant (+HQ) | Category | Signal type | What they do | Who’s threatened | Threat | One-line reason |
| Echelon — Riyadh, Saudi Arabia | Other (enterprise AI deployment) | Public launch; round size undisclosed | Deploys and localises outside AI tools for companies and government | Systems integrators in the Gulf | Low | Home-market play that looks more like services than SaaS |
| Fleuret AI — Paris, France | Security & GRC | €4m (≈$4.7m) pre-seed, 5 Oct; I could not confirm the product is available | Continuous AI penetration testing | Pen-testing firms | Low | A crowded field: Armadin and RemoteThreat appeared last week |
What to watch
- The categories with the highest entry pressure were security and the infrastructure supporting AI agents, with Rein and Ampersand bringing the total number of security entries up to three from last week. Another new group has emerged in the area of AI market research, featuring Spain’s Autentic AI (€1.5m pre-seed) together with Verso. I have only looked at the past two weeks, not the full four-week trend.
- The UK, India and Japan have come back this week after having been absent the previous week. The United States has 4 out of its 12 confirmed cases. Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia, Greater China and Australia/New Zealand still have no confirmed cases.
- The amount of funding is such that the total for confirmed rounds amounts to around $205 million, of which Hone and Gallatin account for about 53% and the four US companies for 73%. The majority of the funds were directed towards two big investments in the United States.
- Regarding graduations: none of the Early Signals from last week (Bodhium Labs) turned out to be moving up.
- For existing companies, this means that Google introduced a general-purpose work agent in the same week that Hone raised $60m for its own. Start-ups building broad, general-purpose agents now face a platform competitor from launch. The companies in the strongest positions are those in the area of plumbing (Ampersand), security (Rein), and workflows in regulated industries (TODAY, Desible.ai, Nettle). Ampersand makes its position clear by saying that “the SaaS apocalypse is overstated and systems of record such as Salesforce and NetSuite aren’t going anywhere”. Incumbents are also entering the market by making acquisitions: SAP is acquiring TechWolf and Personio is acquiring Circula.
Coverage and date checks
Excluded because the funding date sits outside the window:
- Orca Fraud’s round is listed as 8 March 2026, even though it was published this week.
- The round that Aron presented is dated 14 September.
- The news that TensorX released in October was no different from the one announced in June.
Two dates are flagged:
- This week the round of the ocean had its second close; the first one occurred in September.
- Hone was made public on 8 October, but aggregators didn’t list it until 11 October.
Excluded because they are not business SaaS or not new entrants:
- Vatar is a browser game for consumers.
- Alo Hakeem is an app for consumers in home healthcare.
- Manus (worth $500m) and the Preference Model are likewise excluded. The Preference Model creates research tools for frontier AI labs and does not make public its headquarters.
Two of the deals involved have been omitted in order that the report should remain on a single page: Besso (Bern, CHF4m, trade-regulation software) and Pandektes (Copenhagen, €13.5m Series A, legal data). These also fall within the specified range.
