SaaS New Entrant Radar: 28 September 2026
Geography: global.
Window: announcements published 21 to Sun 27 September 2026.
Threat assessment
The threat assessment rubric remains the same as it was last week:
- A capital signal, which refers to the size of the round in relation to the normal stage plus the involvement of tier-1, strategic or sovereign backers;
- The time until a commercial product is available, with live and selling being preferable to stealth;
- Buyer clarity, that is, the product replaces a specifically named and budgeted line item;
- The moat and regulatory barriers presented to new entrants, together with the home market or cross-border reach for companies entering the market from outside the United States and Western Europe.
This week, the companies targeted the systems buyers currently use, namely messaging, contract management and IT services. There were 28 confirmed new entrants this week, up from 20 the previous week. Seventeen of the entrants are from the United States. This figure is actual and not the result of a sourcing gap: the largest number of new entrants came from the United States. Maybe you want to war game your situation?

Notes
This week no incumbent-launched SaaS product lines cleared the bar. On 22 September, OpenAI launched its GPT-6 Sol and Luna models. However, these are model releases, not a new SaaS product line. The number of Dreamforce launches in the previous period was lower.
Early signals
They are intent signals, not instances of actual entry, since in each case there is no shipped product and no disclosed round size or both.

What to watch
- Vertical AI Agents is once more the largest category, with eight of the 28 entries this week compared to six of the 20 last week. In the first two editions, over four weeks, the focus was on AI infrastructure and security; in the two most recent, it has shifted to agents that carry out a specific job within a department. Lending and collections remain a recurring theme: this week it includes Sela and OpenDebt, following last week’s representation by Kastle and JustSolve. A new group has emerged in AI benefits brokerage, including Corridor’s $25m seed round, as well as Decent and Spine, which are listed on the Y Combinator pages.
- The United States has increased its number of entrants, and it is true that there were deals that week. It now has 17 out of the 28 entrants (61 per cent, up from 45 per cent) and about 91 per cent of the disclosed dollars. Japan has had entrants for three weeks in a row, and both Australia and Brazil have also returned. Israel had no entrants based in Israel; its only relevant deal, Chamelio, is based in New York.
- While the amount of money increased, it became more concentrated. Disclosed capital now stands at about $471m, up from about $392m the week before. The median amount in a round has dropped to around $6.3m from about $13m. The top five rounds (Ema, Firecrawl, Confido, Ande, HIFI) account for 63% of the total. Insight Partners once again stands out as the leader in funding Confido and Numeral’s $100m Series C, having led three rounds the previous week.
- This week, one company graduated. ByteAsk, mentioned in an Early Signal two weeks ago, has now raised a pre-seed round led by Y Combinator. Last week’s Early Signals (Perit.AI, Invertix, Papaya, Agent Relay, Agent 37, Lark, Applied Kinetics, Hickory, GrayPass, Kailash Labs, Sintropix, Tenka, TalMal) didn’t publish anything new.
- Current market-share holders are now directly targeting switching costs. Chamelio is financing tools which enable customers to move away from their existing contract systems. Ema is advocating a reduced dependence on SaaS and IT services. Ando is placing agents within the messaging layer. If your renewal argument is that migration is difficult, assume a well-funded competitor will carry out the migration at no cost to them. Therefore, shorten your onboarding process and make your data and permissions available to agents on your terms before your competitor’s tools do.
Coverage notes
Real rounds that did not qualify:
- Vendors at an advanced or established stage include Numeral (with $100 million in Series C financing), MCO (with $100 million in private credit), Brahma AI ($150 million), and Island ($400 million).
- Series A or later rounds with no disclosed founding year:
- Go.AI, with $85 million in funding, also manufactures and sells hardware.
- Trebellar, $18m
- Axya, C$17m (about $12.4m)
- IPID, $16m
- 50skills, $6m
Date checks:
- The $100m figure cited by SynthBee was published on 27 September, but the funding round actually took place in February.
- This week the story about Revora’s $2m seed round reappeared, but it was from June.
- GEMBA and Nuvia finished their rounds the week before and are listed in the table.
- Ando, Kontext, Outerlimit and Subconscious allow only one month for the round, not one day.
Excluded as out of scope:
- Biotechnology and science: Codebreaker Labs and Azulene.
- Consumer products include CatchBack, Kredete, Usawa, and Definedge.
- In hardware and deep technology, Eight Knot develops systems for ship autonomy, and Qambria licenses quantum-control IP.
- OrderEAT ($2m, Uruguay and Chile) was excluded since it does not provide a founding year and mainly sells via a family payments app.
