Early signals

These show intent only. They do not confirm commercial entry.

What to watch

  • Categories: Agents need a control layer and a context layer, and both are drawing the most new entrants. On control, Opsin follows last week’s Rein Security. On context, Uvi, Shamrock and Minicor follow last week’s Ampersand. I have three weeks of data, not yet four.
  • Regions: Latin America (Matria) and Southeast Asia (Salary Hero) came back after being gaps last week. The UK and the Gulf dropped out. The US holds 3 of 13 confirmed entries, down from 4 of 12. Continental Europe holds 4.
  • Funding concentration: Confirmed rounds total about $160m. Healthleap, Zenzap and Opsin make up about 58% of that. About a third ($53m) closed before the window: Zenzap in August 2025 and Causa Prima in September. SignSplit’s $400m sits in Early Signals. If counted, it would be 2.5 times the whole confirmed total.
  • Graduations: Neither of last week’s Early Signals (Echelon, Fleuret AI) has a confirmed follow-on.
  • What it means for incumbents: In one week, Workday and ServiceNow both shipped rule layers for agents. Agent-governance start-ups now sell against the record owner’s own rulebook. Workday puts it plainly: “Probabilistic AI is great at guessing, but in payroll and finance, a good guess isn’t good enough.”  Incumbents are also buying the SaaS-management point tools. Freshworks agreed to buy Torii, and Infotech bought Zluri.  The start-ups best placed to survive work across platforms. Opsin covers Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini, for example.

Coverage and date checks

Excluded on date:

  • Promenaut ($8.9m, HSBC as design partner) first launched on 27 September, though Dealroom ran it on 14 October.
  • Syncrowin (Melbourne, $3m pre-seed) is dated 19 October. It’s on next week’s radar.

Flagged dates:

  • Zenzap’s round closed in August 2025 and was first disclosed this week.
  • Causa Prima’s round closed in September.
  • Disrupt Africa ran Healthleap on 19 October, five days after the first reports.

Excluded as not new business SaaS:

  • Parallel Loop ($6.6m) presents itself as an “AI operating partner” that supplies engineers. It reads as a services firm.
  • Reach Security ($50m) has raised $80m to date.
  • LearnUpon’s €44.5m is a growth-debt facility.
  • Origin is construction robotics.
  • GasLab is an AI music start-up.
