Trust/Value/Consistency Is Your Way to Success

As we become more of a network and technocratic economy, the elements that will allow an individual or organisation to transport itself to the next level will be the elements of trust and consistency.  When combined with your product, media, and messaging, you will then be catapulted to the realm of value. So much more of how we engage in business will be online and not in person.  What is called TVC will be the defining way for organisations to catapult what they are proposing over the metaphoric finish line.

Now, let’s get to the definitions and etymology so that there is pure clarity and discernment.

Trust

A firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something.  It comes from the old Norse word traust.  Middle English trusten comes from the old Norse word treysta, which is derivative of traust.

Value

  1. The regard that something is held to deserve, the importance, worth or usefulness of something.
  2. A person’s principles or standards of behaviour are one’s judgement of what is important in life.  From the Latin valere be strong, be well, be worth.  Root val – to be strong.

Consistency

  1. Conformity is the application of something, typically that which is necessary for the sake of logic, fairness, and accuracy.   Denoting permanence of form in the late 16th century.  From Latin consistia.  Consistere – stand firm or still.

I am going to use two examples of TVC here.  One is large and looms over society.  The other one is diminutive yet growing organically daily.  The large one is MacDonald’s, and the other is my publication, Creative Philosophical Fireworks.

Anyone for a burger?

Let’s start with MacDonald’s.  Even if you do not eat at McDonald’s, would you say you trust it?  I would say most would say yes, they trust them.   Have you ever seen MacDonald’s in the news in any scandalous capacity?  I mean, please think about how many McDonald’s restaurants are around the planet.  For the record, there are 41,800 of them!  That is a lot of meals doled out daily.  MacDonald’s doesn’t close for many days, which increases the risk of scandal.  I will state here and now that it is the epitome of trust, value and consistency!

They risk that 365 24/7, and I can’t ever remember a scandal at McDonald’s. For them to not have any scandals is an amazing feat to do, especially in the smartphone era where everyone fashions themselves as a reporter.

The MacDonald’s system must be considered impeccable!  Whatever they do at MacDonald’s University is most impressive.  We should attempt to act and move like MacDonald’s in our daily motions.  Trust, value and consistency are the unsaid motto MacDonald’s personalise this: I went and had two filet fish sandwiches.

Shrinkflation

They were two for six dollars, and in this inflationary environment, I know how to spot a bargain. I had not been to MacDonald’s for probably ten years!  When I got the sandwiches, they looked the same, just smaller.  Shrinkflation had gotten to them.  We are in the era of shrinkflation, which is an illusion within the delusion.  I took a bite, and my taste buds immediately had the memory of yummy.

The memory of high school and my 20s came back.  I enjoyed both of them.  For me, the TVC was still there after all these years.  I was shocked, but it is MacDonald’s.

The other example is my start-up publication, ‘Creative Philosophical Fireworks,’ on the Substack.com platform. I just had my two-year anniversary in September 2024. I started with 11 subscribers and no followers on 9/11/22. As I conceive this, the budding publication has grown to 1207 subscribers/ followers. This has been grown organically.

I started out writing 2-3 a week and then settled down to a weekly column for the last 1 ½.  Since July 2024, I procured four paid subscribers without requesting or announcing a shift to a paywall.  For me I had to show and prove to see if I was up to snuff even to consider payment.  I just write from my own internal point of view.  My goal was a slight out of the box viewpoint to hopefully get people to go hmm!

Trust, value, and consistency

Adding a twist to the everyday visionary reality! I had to demonstrate trust, value, and consistency. I had to show that I am not microwaveable food but a slow-cooked oven menu. And I wrote every week without stopping, and no matter how I felt, I delivered my column.

In closing, whether it is a multinational billion-dollar operation or a start-up media operation, the principles of TVC apply.

Those three elements are the unsung building blocks of any successful organisation you see.  In the technocratic/digital/A. In the network economy, the way to differentiate yourself, your product, service, and message is to build those three elements that are invisible yet are so profound and tell your story.  Contact Octopus Intelligence to find out how you can enhance your TVC.
